Twitter.com/Lingeriedunet #MGWV #F4F #RT Growing up, Jay Howell (@punksgitcut) was a constant consumer of sugar cereal and TV, and we should be thankful for it. His signature characters are born of high fructose corn syrup and the flickering ray of Saturday morning cartoons, but also bear the imprint of great American weirdos like R. Crumb and Big Daddy Roth, and echoes of graffiti culture (“Kilroy was here”, and still is). His sketchbooks, zines and canvases are full of tall skinny dudes, rocker chicks, skate rats, hungry-eyed dogs, and of course punks of all stripes. A forthcoming book anthology will collect Howell’s prolific zine output, including titles like “Let Me Tell You Where/Where Not To Stick It” and “Dogs and Dog Information”, as well as the long-running “Punks Git Cut”, which is also the name of his popular Instagram. On the platform, it all comes full circle, as a TV in the background reveals Howell’s cartoon work (he designed the characters for the shows “Bob’s Burgers” and “Sanjay and Craig”), and his own dog (aka “Street Dog”) has comical adventures in real life. For #GucciGram, he has imported the elegant flowers and branching patterns of #GGCaleido and #GGBlooms into his universe, where a dark background now becomes a pack of wild dogs, and the blossoms look even more psychedelic than usual. See more talents through link in bio. Text by @paloma_powers @Lingeriedunet by gucci https://instagram.com/p/9ilZn-kG_I/
